How to write a song's name in an essay?

The general rule is you put the names of songs in quotation marks. If the songs are part of a larger piece -- for instance a symphony or a musical -- the name of the larger production would be italicized. Same goes for names of articles (in quotes) in relation to magazines (in italics), chapters and books, etc. I love that you're paying attention to such matters!
