What other Quilfications do I need in engineering to become a engineer in the fire service in the uk?

I'm wanting to join the fire service as a maintenance technical engineer as in fixing equipment that needs maintenance work such as hydraulics & pneumatic devices & other equipment iv got allot off in engineering from NVQ 2 in Manufacturing fabrication, BTEC first & National Diploma which one unit covers hydraulics & pneumatics in one off the units. Lev 3 in electrical an others like Air con & CAD. Would i need to go to collage to get a mechanics course as in fixing vehicle's & trucks or what other courses would I need.
