How do you install a gas fireplace?

I have a used propane fireplace that I am going to install in my brick(70's style) fireplace. It has the convecting tubes just above the firebox, how do I vent the stove around those? The manual says I should use a cl "B" pipe, can I get it flexible? Also, do I need to worry about fresh air?
