Does a clogged milk duct always end in mastitis if the duct is not cleared?

I think I have a clogged duct. I am extremely worried of mastitis developing. I have been doing the typical suggestions of pumping/nursing frequently, using hot compresses, mage, pumping leaning forward/on all 4s to have gravity help the milk move out. I cannot feel any particular lump or hard areas. My nipple is very sore. Sometimes when I am pumping I feel as if there is a rubberband or thread that is being pulled too tightly inside my . (imagery...maybe overactive thinking...but I picture it possibley being the little milk duct trying to let milk through and being suctioned without anything happening. This feeling is not constant but kind of comes intermittently. I have also gotten a kind of piercing pain that lasts just a short while when not pumping/nursing. So, the main question is if a clogged milok duct always ends in mastitis if the duct is not cleared. The 2nd question is if what I have described sounds like a clogged duct. i don't have a fever & no rednes
